Living in the countryside on the edge of Sheffield, where there was no murals or graffiti back in the 1980’s. Rocket01 began his graffiti timeline by painting tracksides and abandoned buildings around the area; always working alone he began to form into one of today’s strongly estab
lished veteran technical masters of the graffiti art scene in the UK and Europe.
An instantly recognisable style of 3D realism mixed with dramatic fantasy allows any Rocket 01 piece to jump off the surface and into the environment. One of the few graffiti artists who can take a photograph and transfer it directly onto a wall using spray paint, Rocket 01’s years of experience
And technical prowess makes him one of the most robust and versatile urban artists in the world, carrying the ability to create art in many styles and formats, often within a matter of minutes.
Rocket01 also works hand in hand with Faunagraphic to create large scale pieces for commissions and competitions together they travel to events abroad, paint commissions together and exhibitions. They class themselves as Eco Artists, painting British nature onto the walls of neglected buildings. Their aim is to emphasize and educate us on the beauty and diversity of nature and the impact we have on it.
Rocket01 received his degree in Fine art, in 2003 from Barnsley
College, Under Leeds Metropolitan University.
