A location in Swinton, South Yorkshire needed a fresh lick of paint! and a new mural ! Groundwork Dearne Valley found the funding from The National Lottery to decorate an entire row of shop fronts into a mural which represents the Heritage of Swinton.

The project is currently ongoing, as its another 130 foot long wall, if not longer. We delivered design and planning sessions to the young people of which well over 60 youngsters are involved with the whole process from the area.

The wall includes important features like the canal, boats, and the famous pottery from the area, the coal mining industry and then onto a modern section at the far end which represents the present day.

Spray can art, ,Murals and Graffiti Workshops

Spray paint gives fast results allowing young people to work large scale. Painting a piece of artwork in bright vibrant colours can have an enormous positive impact on young people.

We have been delivering workshops in and around Yorkshire and Lancashire for more than 10 years, mostly in and around the Sheffield and Rotherham area. We have worked with many Schools youth groups and activity centres in all regions of England. A session with us can last anything from 2 hours to a full day or even be ongoing for a number of weeks.

A project could be anything from regenerating shop shutters or walls in a community with colourful artwork, to smaller projects where young people can create their own masterpiece on a board or canvas, which they can then take home. Design and Planning sessions can be part of the preparation for any project,

Collaboration Nation was founded by Keith Hopewell

As an opportunity for  Artists to collaborate a black and white illustration, One artist would start off the image then it would be sent through the post to a dozen other

artists who would draw on the same page as the first artist.

The project has grown from strength to strength and regularly appears in magazine articles.

I have been involved with a few Series of the Project, and continue to in the future,

Commissioned by  COL-ART  owners of  Windsor And Newton and Liquitex  to be displayed in Germany Jan 2012 for an Art Convention

The Canvas doesn’t have a title, but was inspired from my last Kingfisher canvas “King of Colour”
